Jelly Processing Solutions

01

Project Overview and Core Engineering Challenges

Jelly is highly popular among consumers worldwide, thanks to its springy, smooth texture and diverse range of flavors. However, its production process is complex, involving dozens of steps—from ingredient blending, filling, and sealing to sterilization, cooling, and final packaging. Finished jelly products require frequent transfer between various pieces of production equipment; even the slightest oversight during transport can easily lead to issues such as cup deformation due to compression, scratches on the sealing film, or leakage and breakage.

●  Materials conveyed: Ingredients such as jelly powder and granulated sugar, as well as finished jelly products (post-sealing and sterilization).

●  Application stages: Covers the entire production line, including ingredient transport to the boiling kettle, filling and molding, sealing, sterilization, cooling and setting, inspection, and packaging.

●  Challenges of the jelly production line: High temperatures and elevated positioning of the boiling kettle during the initial stage; the need to drain water from the jelly after cooling and sterilization in the intermediate stage; and the requirement to elevate the jelly for entry into the packaging machine during the final stage. As this is a food industry application, production conditions must comply with food-grade hygiene and safety standards.

02

Jelly ingredient feeding

Challenges in Raw Material Feeding: The preparation of the jelly mixture requires the addition of large quantities of powdered ingredients, such as jelly powder and granulated sugar. The cooking vessel is positioned at a significant height, and the operating environment is characterized by high temperatures. Relying on manual feeding not only entails high labor intensity and safety risks—such as potential burns from the heat—but also makes it difficult to ensure efficient material transfer.

Solution: The screw conveyor is constructed entirely from food-grade 304 stainless steel, enabling the enclosed, contact-free transport of powders. By eliminating the need for manual climbing to load materials, the system avoids the risks associated with high-temperature operations, ensures the safety and hygiene of raw material handling, and significantly enhances the level of automation in the ingredient preparation process.

03

Jelly lifting and feeding into the packaging machine

Conveying Challenges: After cooling and sterilization, jelly products typically exit the line at a low level, whereas the infeed of the downstream packaging machine is situated much higher, necessitating lifting equipment for transfer. The sealing film on jelly cups is highly susceptible to scratching, and the cups themselves are prone to leakage or deformation under pressure; consequently, the conveying equipment must meet stringent protective standards.

Solution: Lifting equipment must ensure product protection and damage prevention, utilize food-grade materials, and facilitate easy cleaning and maintenance. A food-grade PU belt conveyor perfectly meets these production requirements.
